The Loot Tunes service will be aimed at the print publication's readership alongside its online audience at Loot.com

Wippit will power the store under the Loot brand, which offers single downloads from 29p and launch with three chart albums for £20.

Customers can choose to pay via credit card or SMS.

To launch the service Loot Tunes will be giving away 10 MP3 players including the latest Tuny7 portable video player in a draw to visitors that register.

Paul Myers, Wippit CEO, said: "Wippit is associated with value and so is Loot, so the marriage that creates Loot Tunes is ideal for consumers and an easy concept to grasp."

The Loot site attracts more than 19 million page impressions a month, 635,662 unique users. In print form, Loot’s national circulation is 105,045 with 12 editions printed every week.

London-based Wippit offers tracks downloads to buy individually from 29p each, or unlimited downloads for only £50 a year.

Last week the firm announced it was to branch into movie downloads, offering films from 99p.  The service is expected to launch later this summer.
