The portal now includes tabbed browsing, enabling users to surf numerous sites with the same browser, meaning customers can surf the web without having to sign in. The sidebar has also been redesigned to provide access to users most frequently used services.

Meanwhile, a new book marking and history facility enables customers to access previous pages through tabs, and a photo library tool allows users to display personal images on a customisable site, which can be forwarded to family and friends.

BT Yahoo! Broadband now includes RSS (Really Simple Syndication) technology, giving access to thousands of Website publishers, which allows users to create their own bespoke homepage with feature rich content.

Gavin Patterson, group managing director consumer and group marketing at BT, said: “As families are spending more time online, the ‘one size fits all’ approach traditionally offered by ISPs has become outdated. These changes should help users create their own space online that is 100% relevant to their lifestyles.”

Access to the new homepage is available as part of the BT Yahoo! Broadband package which costs from £26.99 per month. Also included is a pop-up blocker with anti-spyware, parental controls and spam filters, unlimited photo storage, and customisable radio station LAUNCHcast Plus.
