Midasplayer reaches monthly profitability

In January the company saw 15 million games played off its site, with net deposits totalling some $1 million. It is believed that the results make Midasplayer.com the number one company in the global skill gaming sector.

Analysts also draw attention to the high level of net deposits made per customer. Midasplayer.com has signed up some 2 million players since it launched in August 2003, but it appears to be driving more revenues from its customer base than similar sites which, in some cases, boast five times the number of players.

Extra features on the site, such as the ability to see and compete against others in multiplayer games in real time, plus its high level of localisation (the site is translated into eight languages and accepts four currencies), are attributed to its financial success.

The company is currently in the process of establishing a number of partnerships in the USA - similar to the deals it has in place in Europe, with Yahoo!, Lycos, RTL -which will see it go head to head with US-based skill gaming operators including Worldwinner.com and Skilljam.com.

It also has plans to expand in Europe this year.
