The branded wireless products will include games, video clips, ring tones, wallpapers, screensavers and MMS.

For the first time, fans will also be able to download video clips from the new season of South Park, plus watch video clips of highlights from previous seasons.

THQ said The South Park content will be available on most Java-enabled phones from most major networks in Europe starting in February 2005. The launch will be accompanied by a marketing campaign to coincide with the new TV series, which launches in the UK in early 2005.

The content will include South Park Sports Day, a series of sporting mini-games including Cartman in a pie-eating contest and Terrance and Philip participating in “Fart Hurdles”.

In addition, THQ Wireless is developing a Kenny-based “Tamagochi-style” game, a mecha robot game and a 3D racing title, all scheduled for release later in 2005.

Adam Comiskey, general manager of EMEA for THQ Wireless, said: “The South Park characters are perfect for mobile phones, and I am confident that our portfolio will become a must-have item for fans everywhere.”

Since the launch of the first series of South Park in 1998, the program has consistently been rated in the top three shows for 16+ males across Europe.
