The "Google Maps":http://maps.google.com/ service is currently powered by mapping firm TeleAtlas. The service offers a few tweaks to standard mapping products.
Unlike similar Web mapping services users can “click and drag” the maps, rather than having to reload new pages to navigate maps. It also offers pop up bubbles on maps to enable a user to magnify an area of particular interest.
The service currently covers the US, Puerto Rico and parts of Canada, and supports Internet Explorer and Mozilla browsers.
Last year, Google bought satellite imaging company Keyhole. However, the new mapping service does not currently incorporate this technology
