FT appoints director of online publishing

In addition to the commercial management of FT.com, Pocklington will be responsible for overseeing the FT’s electronic and specialist content syndication agreements and partnerships.
Working with Tracy Corrigan, editor of FT.com, Nigel will report into Olivier Fleurot, chief executive of the Financial Times Group. Nigel will also join the FT’s board of management.
Nigel joined the Financial Times in September 2003 as commercial director of FT.com and prior to this he was director of strategy at Pearson.
Speaking on the importance of its online division, Olivier Fleurot, chief executive, said: “Nigel has done an excellent job over the past year in developing and managing our online strategy and this new role reflects FT.com’s place at the heart of our organisation.”
FT.com has 3.6m unique monthly users, over 58.2 million monthly page views and attracts over 76,000 subscribers.
The Financial Times newspaper currently has a circulation of over 436,000 copies worldwide, and a readership of over 1.6 million people.
