Wheel grabs Stelios car hire contract

Wheel will provide the car hire firm with an annual marketing campaign designed to achieve “tens of thousands” of bookings needed for easyCar to meet its 2005 business objectives.
The agency said it conducted market and competitor research before devising a marketing strategy, the details of which are yet to be announced.
Ricki Jones, head of Wheel’s media team, will be responsible for implementing the campaign and reporting on all return on investment information to easyCar.
Commenting on the deal, Caroline McGuckian, media director at Wheel, said: “Our initial efforts will be focused on building and implementing the robust acquisition programme, along with the necessary tracking essential for measuring the success of the campaign.”
easyCar is part of easyGroup, owned by entrepreneur Stelios Haji-Ioannou.
Wheel employs almost 100 people at its two offices in London and Glasgow. It’s current client portfolio includes Marks and Spencer, Unilever, Allied Domecq, BT, Starbucks, Opodo, Laura Ashley, COI, Dixons Store Group, IKEA, Scottish Water.
