The "website":http://www.egay.co.uk enables users to auction any item, due to its over 18 age restriction, with a proportion of egay's monthly profits donated to the Terence Higgins Trust, an HIV and AIDS charity.

Auction items will be free to list for the first two months, with a charge thereafter, which the site claims will be up to 30% less than ebay.

Products categories are similar that offer in other aution sites. A cursory glance at the site this morning revealed auctions for a signed Graham Norton autobiography and a Dolly Parton DVD.

egay said it will also offer a classified section. The classified section will enable businesses and individuals to advertise particular services and products such as rooms/properties to let, jobs, events and much more.

Craig Busst, founder and Managing Director of egay said: "egay aims to provide not only a great service, but a distinctive and credible website that serves the requirements of the gay, lesbian, bi-Sexual, transsexual and transvestite communities. We plan to develop the site, introducing egay chat and egay dating, but our main focus will continue to be the quality of service."

egay launches today (Wednesday 20 October) and says it expects 100,000 users within the first 6-12 months.
