The service will be provided by leading European digital media company Buongiorno.

MOBO fans will be able to download polyphonic ringtones of tracks by nominated artists via the official website http://www.mobo.com.

They will then also receive three free ‘Backstage Update’ text messages to give them real time updates of the evening’s proceedings and eventual winners.

Performances on the night will be from artists including Estelle, Mario Winans Jamelia and Brandy, which will take place at the Royal Albert Hall on Thursday 30 September.

Kanya King at The MOBO Organisation said: "This year, for the first time, MOBO fans can both keep in touch with how their favourite musicians are faring in the awards, as well as carry a personalised reminder of the evening on their mobile phones. From a business perspective, Buongiorno’s expertise also enables us to build an opted-in SMS subscriber list for ongoing promotion of the event."
