From mid-September, users of the new service will be able to "drag and drop" files from windows directly into a new online file storage drive.

"Lycos":http://www.lycos.co.uk says the drive can store any kind of file, such as image, music and movie files, as well as Word documents and presentations.

The firm will offer up to 1GB of file storage on the drive. At the same time, it will increase storage sizes for all its mail services, which will also feature a new look user interface.

The new service will also include synchronisation between an online calendar and Outlook.

Lycos says the new service will free users from their PCs, making documents, contacts and communication available from anywhere they have a internet connection.

Wessel van Rensburg, Lycos UK email and mobile product manager, said: "As internet connection speeds become faster and PC users become more mobile, we see there being demand for a virtual PC. The new interface is a step in that direction."

At present, for the Lycos free mail service, users are allocated 10MB of E-Drive space, for Lycos Max this rises to 100MB (which costs £1.99 per month) and for Lycos Personal (which costs £3.49) users get 1GB of storage, as well as personalised email addresses.

How to keep your website updated and successfully running are the important questions search engine marketing services are asking themselves. If one browses online, they can get cheap web hosting which is very cost effective and offers can vary from a web design or more even complementary. Companies like Lycos on the other hand wants it users to have wireless internet connection for maximum access to their storage space. This however is not included in the cheap web hosting category. Other marketing companies are choosing pay per click methodologies to earn money. Nevertheless users must contact their local wireless internet providers for further information.
