The 512k service is designed to lure customers away from rivals such as BT, Wanadoo and AOL which offer high-speed access.
Tesco is also offering free customer service for the first 30 days, in a bid to entice more customers.
Tesco's broadband service will enable customers to download as much data as they want with no usage caps, unlike similarly priced offers from BT and Wanadoo.
The service will be available on CD-Rom across 700 Tesco stores and on the company's website http://www.tesco.com.
Alongside its existing dial-up internet service provider business, Tesco has a residential telephony offer. It also entered the mobile phone market last year though a deal with mobile network operatorO2.
In June, Waitrose announced the launch of a high speed broadband ISP, becoming the first UK supermarket to do so.
The Waitrose.com Broadband servcie offers free connection and a half price modem and costs £27.99 per month. Charges include unlimited access with no connection time or usage restrictions as well as 100 MB of webspace for users to create personal websites.
