The deal will also include a public affiliate program, to launch in the next few months in the UK, France and Germany.

CNet has operations in 15 countries, in the US, Asia and Europe. It focuses on three categories: personal technology, games and entertainment, and business technology.

CNet's portfolio includes CNet, ZDNet, TechRepublic, MP3.com, GameSpot, and Computer Shopper magazine.

TradeDoubler will track the impact of CNet’s European commerce website traffic and examine the value of its online campaigns, allowing CNet to manage relationships with advertisers.

CNet is aiming to use the results to better target potential shoppers in Europe.

Will Cooper, chief marketing officer at TradeDoubler, said: “Our solution gives CNet the strategic advantage over its competitors, by providing the tools to offer a higher-level of accountability and consultancy to its clients. The Media Toolbox is rapidly becoming the killer application when it comes to demonstrating return on investment in Internet advertising”.

The agreement with TradeDoubler has recently launched in France and the UK, with plans to extend the offering to Germany soon. CNet will be managing the whole of its European online marketing system from a control centre in Paris.
