Digital Oxygen has been set up to provide effectiveness in interactive marketing by means of broadcast and analysis of rich media campaigns, covering advertising, email and viral elements.

The new company will incorporate email and viral marketing with rich media and video services that were offered by First Media, while being structured on a global delivery network that was originally designed to hold large-scale video advertising campaigns.

The new company has already started working with clients including UIP, the British Horseracing Board and Midway Games.

Managing director at Digital Oxygen, Mike Weston said: "The warm response we've received from our customers is a terrific endorsement of our decision to start Digital Oxygen. As digital marketing increasingly commands a greater share of marketing budgets, there is a clear need for a company that can be relied upon to deliver online campaigns that work.

Mike Weston who will take up the position as company MD, with Riaz Kanani as director of technology, and Marc Morris as the group account director have formed the Digital Oxygen.

Weston spent ten years in the national press before moving into digital advertising within the Associated New Media from 1997. He has also held senior roles at Engage and Yahoo! before joining First Media in 2003.

Kanani ran First Media's core technical infrastructure and client services, while Morris has worked with many of the UK's leading advertisers and their agencies.

Digital Oxygen said it would make further announcements in the coming weeks.
