Under terms of the agreement, YooMedia will purchase the entire issued share capital of Fancy a Flutter, or 2.5 million news ordinary shares from interactive TV software developer NDS, and gaming and entertainment company Rank Group.

YooMedia CEO David Docherty said: "Our acquisition of Fancy a Flutter consolidates YooMedia's position on the biggest interactive TV platform in the UK."

He added that the acquisition would accelerate YooMedia's entry into the fixed odds gaming market on digital interactive television, following last December'sfrom Sony Pictures Entertainment, in a deal worth £6.4m.

Managing Director for Fancy a Flutter, Martin Graham-Scott said the acquisition falls into line with the companies business model, namely adding more games which he said 'is critical for driving revenue.'

Martin added that Fancy a Flutter would continue to pursue further linking deals with broadcasters.

Fancy a Flutter,, is a fixed-odds gaming channel which occupies a position on the second page of Sky Digital's interactive menu and also within Sky Active and the Betting Zone.
