Over 150m users worldwide will be wirelessly accessing video clips including sports, movies and adult entertainment, generating revenues of just under $4.7bn by 2008, according to the latest report by Strategy Analytics. The research concludes that RealNetworks, which has partnered with Nokia, Ericsson and OpenWave "remains in a strong position for the longer term" in this market as does Thin Multimedia, HelloNetworks and Oplayo. These players it argues provide "low cost, proprietary solutions that carriers can use to target the mass market of mobile phones."
