AOL Europe has tried once more to shake-off persistent rumours that is being primed for takeover by ISPs T-Online or Wanadoo. Philip Rowley, president of AOL Europe, told Reuters that the unit's recent move from red to black should quash any further speculation that it is up for sale. "I very strongly believe, and I'm sure [Time Warner chief executive] Dick Parsons agrees too, that selling out at this stage would not be in the best interests of shareholders," Rowley said. AOL Europe is now in profit - although only on an EBITDA basis. Rowley would not disclose the profit figure but said the company reached the milestone a year ahead of previous expectations, according to the report.
