Vodafone teams up with Verizon on messaging

Verizon Wireless and Vodafone have joined forced to enable customers to send text messages via mobiles back and forth across the Atlantic Ocean. Initially, Verizon customers in the United States and Vodafone customers in Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Great Britain will be able to text each other. The service will launch early next year.
