UK is 12th most 'wired' nation

The UK has been ranked twelfth 'wired' nation in the world, according to a new study by the International Telecommunication Union, which has published its first global index rating Information and Communication Technology access. Sweden, Iceland, Norway, the Netherlands and Finland all ranked higher than the UK in the report. The Index measured countries by number of landlines and mobile phones per person, internet access cost, national literacy, speed of broadband links and the percentage of citizens that use the web.
