The group, which operates in nine European countries, said that total revenue from advertising and merchant commissions reached EU15m, up from EU5.4m in the first six months of 2002.
Kelkoo said that the UK has now surpassed France as the largest contributor in terms of revenue. In the second quarter Kelkoo UK revenue exceeded EU2.9m, up 31% over the first quarter.
In addition, the company said that it generated EU114.5m in sales for its UK merchant network in the first half. Sales generated for clients across the entire European network were EU350m for the six-month period.
"The considerable increase in our audience - up to 16 million monthly users across Europe in June and 6.3 million in the UK alone - has resulted in accelerated growth in the last two quarters," said Kelkoo CEO Pierre Chappaz.
He added that the company has also been consistently ranked as the largest European e-commerce service in the last three quarters.
The company has added 80 new staff so far this year to meet the rapid growth, mostly in the areas of client management and R&D. It is investing heavily in R&D to improve the search function and make the website more attractive to users, and plans to launch a revamped version in the UK sometime within the next two months.
Kelkoo is also working on expanding its network of retailers to offer users more choice, and has set a goal of 500 UK key online retailers by the end of this year, up from 400 currently.
