Peer-to-peer network Kazaa has launched a new paid-for version of its popular file sharing software, called Kazaa Plus that includes several enhancements, and excludes advertising. The move comes just a month after rival network Grokster launched the first paid-for version of its software, also stripped of ads. Kazaa Plus claims to offer customers enhanced search, and the ability to download files from up to 40 sources at one time, up from only eight in the advertising-supported version. The advertising-free version of Kazaa is being published by Avalon Online Distribution, a subsidiary of software publishing firm Titus Interactive Group, and is available for download globally for $29.95.
