Peer-to-peer file sharing network Grokster is to integrate digital rights protection technology developed by Softwrap to help guard against piracy. Softwrap will install its DRM software onto a new, advertisement-free, subscription version of Grokster. The company said it will also build and operate a software storefront that will be hosted on the Grokster interface, to help protect content owners during the file-swapping process. The software combines security with an e-commerce payment mechanism that makes it easy for users to purchase files via the web.
