Virgin Trains has extended a wireless internet trial that has been in operation at London's Euston station since February. The company has instructed wireless technology provider Broadreach Networks to install equipment at Birmingham International and Manchester Piccadilly, after declaring the first phase of the pilot scheme "a success". Broadreach, which specialises in providing broadband internet access for people on the move, said rail passengers will shortly be able to access email and the high speed internet while on the move. Initially, the scheme will allow passengers to hook up to the wireless internet on station concourses, cafes and within the first class business lounge.
