Spammers are continuing to direct rogue mail towards unwitting inboxes, despite moves to introduce legislation in the US and Europe. Internet security specialist MessageLabs claims that 34.4% of all incoming mail in June could be classified as spam, based on the 122m messages it scanned. This represents a rise of 38.5% in the past 12 months. The figures are not as bad as were reported for May, when spam accounted for 55% of incoming mail.
