Yahoo! UK & Ireland is looking to push its email services into more remote locations, announcing that it is sponsoring the world's highest internet cafe, which launches on Mount Everest today. The new internet cafe, which is located in Everest's base camp, will enable the 50,000 trekkers that come to the Everest region every year to keep in touch with family and friends, and will also make it easier to summon emergency assistance or check the latest weather conditions online. Yahoo! said that any profits generated by the Everest cafe are being given to the Sagarmatha Pollution Control committee, which clears the Everest area of rubbish that climbers leave behind.
