The new site, replete with new logo and design, will add five new content channels - 'Living', 'Trends', 'Reading', 'Humour' and 'Columns' - and will feature syndicated content from Telegraph.co.uk, on top of its own original content.

Liv4now features a range of discussion boards and an SMS chat room, and is increasingly being accessed by users of mobile devices such as PDAs. According to Liv4now CEO Ewan MacLeod, its PDA audience "continues to go through the roof" and aligning its mobile and web audiences was a core reason for undergoing a makeover, which has taken six weeks to complete.

"We intend to generate revenue from access fees and subscriptions before too long, and we are also discussing integrating Liv4now Mobile into the mobile portal of one of the UK's biggest mobile networks," he said.

Another key factor in the redesign was the changing nature of the site's demographic, which has by and large matured into a 20-something user base. Liv4now says it provides an interactive community for people that enjoy spending time in bars, clubs and restaurants, and who are looking for a similar experience online.

Liv4now editorial director Ilana Fox said: "Over the past three years Liv4now's audience has shifted from a student-centric audience to a more professional one, and we decided that our site should keep up with what our audience wants."

Partnerships with MyOffers.com, Livegigguide.com and KlubUniverse.com have bolstered Liv4now's services in time for the relaunch.
