De Beers said it has more than 850 domains registered and has been looking for a solution to keep track of renewals and new registrations. NetNames will provide the company with access to its Portfolio Manager, a web-based application that will centralise the management of its many domain names.
NetNames director of business development Jonathan Robinson said: "We developed the service as an outsourced solution to significantly reduce the cost and complexity of managing a company's online assets."
Meanwhile, Global Name Registry has heavily criticised ICANN's staff report regarding the re-delegation of the .org top-level domain, citing "serious problems with the methology used to judge applications", "lack of transparency and logic" and "simple mathematical errors".
