The company said that the cuts, amounting to between 1% and 2% of the company's global workforce, will fall on the North American sales division as well as its services group.
The group was formerly the responsibility of Oracle ex-executive VP Jay Nussbaum, who resigned earlier this month to take a senior executive position at the enterprise software and services arm of KPMG Consulting.
At the time of his resignation, Oracle CEO and chairman Larry Ellison indicated that there would be some redundancies at the division.
