Shopping portal BlueCarrots.com has appointed Alan Smith as its commercial director. He was previously at S.Com, where he had the same position. Kit Harvey, who was formerly commercial internet development manager at Media Initiatives Group, has joined as head of sales.

Peter Northing has been appointed by QXL as its UK sales director. He joins from Buena Vista Home Entertainment.

ISP Themutual.net's joint MD, Simon Wajcenberg, has retired with immediate effect to pursue other interests.

Phil Dwyer has taken the position of director at Textuality, a new media consultancy and think tank, following his departure from Jupiter.

Digital agency Razorfish has appointed Mike Beeston as its strategic development director for Europe. Beeston co-founded the UK office in 1995, and will now take responsibility for forecasting markets and trends.

Jon James has joined Flextech as its head of interactive development. James was previously with digital strategy consultancy Informed Sources.

Lyndon Ratcliffe-Ogden has left his position as account director at Beenz to become sales and marketing director at browser personalisation company Meltingpoint Technologies.

Matthew Luce, formerly responsible for client services and strategic business development at BBC MediaArc, has joined Grey Interactive Services as Practice Team Director, where he will head up its entertainment and publishing practice team.

Interactive ad agency Profero has appointed Eamonn Store as its client services director. Store was formerly commercial director of international at Carat.

Sam Stonier has been named by Blueberry.net as its new chief strategic officer, responsible for developing business strategy and for managing its partner programme. Stonier comes to the role from consultancy positions at PeopleSoft and Andersen Consulting.

Nick Gutfreund has joined digital media agency i-level from Publicis. He will take the role of international business development director, taking responsibility for its expansion into international markets.

Palm Inc has appointed Mike Weatherley as its vice president for Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Internet expert Spencer Hudson is joining marketing strategist Propaganda as its director of e-media.
