The research highlighted that localisation is one of the most serious issues in pan-European eCRM, with few vendors ready to support these kinds of systems. The variety of languages, currencies, legislation and time zones across Europe must be catered for in CRM packages.
SAP and update.com AG are among the few bigger CRM vendors with localised versions ready for Eastern Europe, with SAP being ahead of most for offering its CRM system in 20 European languages. The report listed the top CRM vendors in Europe as Siebel, Nortel Networks, PeopleSoft, Oracle and SAP. The CRM vendors make the most revenue in the UK and Germany.
The report found that Siebel, the leading CRM vendor, has strong functionality but its European support structures are not as well developed. Siebel's presence in Europe is growing at 360% with Southern Europe beginning to contribute very strongly.
