Microsoft takes slice of iTV from Chyron

After eight months of development, Chyron has commercially launched Chyron Interactive and Chyron Streaming Services in the UK. Chyron Interactive focuses on developing production tools and services for iTV, while Streaming Services offers consulting and application services such as encoding and streaming. The company offers managed hosting at PSINet's Docklands data centre.
US-based Chyron is a leading developer of technology that integrates text - such as subtitles - into TV streams, with an estimated 90% of the US market. The company recently acquired UK firm Pro-Bel, a provider of video routing technology and digital asset management tools.
