E-business consortium formed

Members of the consortium include Compaq, Computer Associates, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Agency.com, Bull, Cambridge Technology Partners, Commerce One, Fujitsu Siemens, Intershop, SAP System Integration AG and Unisys.

The companies will work in the consortium to tackle subjects including XML for e-business, legacy system and e-business practice integration, information over mobile devices, intranet latency and security issues.

As well as being a place for technology providers to have discussions, the consortium is also soliciting input for customers regarding what their e-business requirements are.

The site, located at www.businessinternetconsortium.org, will offer the white papers and other information coming out of the working groups.
