This site has been developed by the digital media agency, Foresight. Its premise is to act as a “drip feed” of information in the lead up to the destruction of the earth - the film's opening moment.
Earthwatch offers visitors futuristic news and weather, and encourages them to post their own fictional news stories, posing as reporters.
According to Foresight, the website will be part of an “extensive” online marketing campaign to generate awareness in the run up to the film. Activities will feature online PR, guerilla marketing, communities marketing, and e-mailable applications, in a campaign redolent of that of Blair Witch Project last year.
