Added:
Sep 22, 1999

A recent study found that marketing department is responsible for corporate web sites in over 20% of cases, up from 11.5% twelve months ago. This reflects a rate of change in keeping with findings by Zona Research in the US. 63% of sites where the end-responsibility lies with the marketing department are successful, compared to 37.3% of sites where responsibility rests with the IT department.

Online advertising spend by Belgian companies remains low, with only one in five having placed a banner ad. The average campaign spend is less than US$2,600 on their campaign. Just one in five companies have placed a banner ad.

The report also found steady growth in software and hardware sales to Belgian companies. The study estimates that in 1999, 26,3% of Belgian companies spent more than US$2,600 on software, up from 19% in 1998. This year, 21.8% of companies spent more than US$7,800 on hardware, up from 15% last year.
