Two-thirds (64%) of internet users have researched online, but only one in three (32%) have actually made a purchase.
The most frequent barriers were pricing (77%), potential problems with returns (67%), concern about credit card security (65%) and personal privacy issues (58%).
Difficulties in navigating merchant sites were mentioned by 35% of individuals who have yet to make an online purchase and, somewhat surprisingly, by 48% of those who have purchased online. A quarter of all buyers also complained about the amount of time it took to receive their orders.
