Tag management system TagMan has appointed Jon Baron, formerly VP of international sales at Vibrant Media, as its first general manager to lead the company’s commercial development.
Baron is a Microsoft veteran, joining the newly-formed sales team at MSN UK in March 1999 as sales manager and, ultimately, taking the role of head of multinational sales in October 2006, where he led the company’s first global sales team across the US, EMEA and Asia.
He joined hypertext ad network Vibrant Media in May 2008 where he led the business’ commercial efforts in most markets outside the US.
He will now drive TagMan’s commercial development, focusing on growing existing client relationships, developing new ones and building the business’ strategic industry partnerships.
TagMan founder and CEO Paul Cook said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have Jon on board. His experience and skills are ideal for taking TagMan to the next level and his arrival is fantastic testament to the potential for our solution.”
Baron commented: “I believe TagMan will shake up the online marketing industry in a very positive way. It’s not about what the business can do for itself but what it can do for its clients, that is deliver them full visibility and control over their online marketing strategies and campaigns. I’m genuinely excited about its future and looking forward to helping it get the commercial success it deserves.”
His appointment follows the hiring in March of former Revolution editor Philip Buxton as marketing director and Craig Macpherson, also ex-Microsoft, as business development director.
