Under threat of closure at the end of the year, this unique club, set up 60 years ago by Muriel Belcher in Soho's Dean Street, has been a vibrant, unique and historical drinking den for artists, writers, musicians, actors and their acolytes. This tiny first-floor room has enjoyed an important role in Soho society, playing host to major British talent, including Francis Bacon, Peter O'Toole, Lisa Stansfield, Tracey Emin, Michael Andrews, Lucien Freud and Damien Hirst, and should be allowed to continue to do so with a new breed of up and coming artists and others, alongside the continuing hard core of established members and their guests. Our campaign to keep the club alive has the support of London Mayor Boris Johnson and application has been made to English Heritage to ensure the continuance of this venerable Soho destination.
You can get involved by bringing your friends, colleagues and clients to a fantastic tailor-made event, which promises to be the most talked about party of the season. Wear what you will. Make an entrance. Cause a stir. Have fun and join the party...
