Speaker: Sean Phelan - Founder of Multimap

Topic: This month’s Netimperative Directors Dinner, hosted by Sean Phelan, founder of Multimap, will look at how to exit a company successfully.  Sean recently stepped down from his chairman role at Multimap, the company he founded back in 1995. At this dinner, Sean will impart his own experience of building a company’s value to an optimum level.  What are the main options for exiting a company? Just when should you sell a company, and who should you sell to? How do tie-in periods affect the decision and what advisors should you choose? Attend this Directors Dinner and find out.

About Sean Phelan: Sean Phelan started Multimap.com as a bootstrap start-up in his spare bedroom in 1995 and built it into one of the 10 most popular British web services, with revenues of £12M and profits of £1M.   In December 2007 the company was acquired by Microsoft for £30 million, cementing its position in the ranks of Britain’s internet success stories.  Prior to founding Multimap, Sean was a principal consultant in KPMG’s Telecommunications and Media Convergence practice, where he advised major clients on products, services, regulation and marketing strategies. Sean previously worked at the Yankee Group Europe, as principal analyst, consulting on data communications markets and trends. Sean holds an MBA from Institute Theseus, in Sophia Antipolis, France, and an engineering degree from the University of Sussex.
