Video sharing site Dailymotion has appointed digital specialist agency POKE to assist with positioning its brand for international growth, including branding, digital strategy, web and interactive marketing initiatives.

The activity will be managed internationally, and led by POKE New York. The agency was appointed in a three-way pitch.

Commenting on the appointment, Chris Mannella, Global Marketing Director, Dailymotion said: “Dailymotion’s heritage and position is very strong in Europe; however, our international proposition - which reaches from Europe to the US to Asia - is growing extremely fast and is very important to the business.  We want to refresh the brand to produce a brand platform and experience that inspires people to upload and engage with the creative offerings across the world.”

Michael Kantrow, Founding Partner and Managing Director of POKE New York, added: ‘Dailymotion is synonymous with independent film making and creativity in France, and we see a clear opportunity to take that equity forward to create a unique position for the brand which will catalyze growth in key markets around the world.  The competitive landscape is crowded and we believe we can together create a distinct and differentiated position for such a substantial player as Dailymotion, that’s truly valuable for content creators and viewers alike.’

.

Dailymotion was launched in 2005 and now has offices in New York, London, Barcelona and Cannes.  It offers a mix of official content from partners such as Channel 4, ITN ON, Turner Broadcasting,  Viacom/MTV Networks and Universal Music.
