  1. Comparing Facebook and Microsoft or Facebook and Google is meaningless. It tells us nothing. They are not competing alternatives. This is like saying “more people go to the cinema than eat chicken” as if they were things you had to chose between. Growth in traffic to either is not the product of related causes – growth in Facebook is growth in social media activity, growth in Microsoft traffic is related to PC installations, the reliability of MS software (or lack thereof), and new product activity by Microsoft.
    Comparing the two is just silly.
